Guard Giant in Grand Palace

>> Wednesday, June 3, 2009

I took this photo in Royal Grand Palace and The Emerald Buddha Temple. As well known, Thai culture and history journey mostly starts in Bangkok, the city that never sleeps.

Giant is one of Temple Icon, ghost-banishing Giant Yak. In Thai, we simply call it as YAK. When we were kid, we are fool that Gian will come to eat us if we do not behave good. So Scared you know.

A visit to the Royal Grand Palace in Bangkok is something what most tourists never will forget as the Royal Grand Palace is very impressive with all his golden buildings, guards and Buddha statues.

Tussy! Great golden photo! I visited that temple in 1990 when I was teaching English in Japan. I still have the framed picture. Thanks for the happy memory! EAGAN daily photo in friendly Minnesota - come and visit!
