Such a beautiful flower, and a wonderful smell... I discovered frangipani trees in Thailand, and I just love them !

We call them kalachuchi and they were used mostly for funeral wreaths when I was young, so many in my generation and older associate its scent with death and sadness. I don't see (and smell) them in funeral wreaths anymore though, maybe because they wilt so fast, so the association with death will eventually disappear in the younger generations. Which is good, because its scent is really lovely, especially at night.

@ Hilda - It is same here, we used to use it in funeral due to strong smell, and with previous name is pronouced as bad luck, we can find it in temples only. However, since it got new name not more than 10 years ago, it becames so popular and expensive too!

In the Philippines we call it Kalachuchi and they smell good. Happy Monday!

As it is said, that there can't ever be a dark yellow, it is indeed a colour filled with peace and the white of a happy life. Please have a nice start into the new month.

Beautiful! we have lots of Frangipanni on our parks here, in different colours bloom.
