Generally Buddhism chapel or grand hall would be in GOLD theme to celebrate the golden light, but I just notice that some of them are in indigo color, it is so matched with today clear sky!

Just paid a visit to Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha Temple today as the end of the year to make merit, in which I try to do yearly. My next program during January would be visiting 9 temples in one day to bring extra luck to my family and myself.

Wordless Wednesday ~ Passport with stamped, and STAMPS

Don't be confused, referring to my previous post about getting Passport from the Event called "Happiness of the Father, Happiness of the Children; " the Theme for the 60th Royal Coronation Anniversary Celebration. You can see how the Passport pages are.

At the traditional Coronation Ceremony 60 years ago, His Majesty pronounced the traditional Oath of Accession: “We shall reign with righteousness for the benefits and happiness of the Siamese people.” It is printed inside the Passport at the left side, it is most impressive Oath of Accession and he acts as he said. This is even more impressive.

Kingdom of Thailand consists of 76 provinces, each of them has their own stamp, or you can call Coat of Arm as it represents the famous, well-known, or respectful place/item of itself. This stamp is only used in their legal paper in the name of local government. It is not easy to get this stamp to public like this event does.

It is also considered as 60th Royal Marriage Anniversary as well, Thailand Post has launched lovely stamp as Pink and Gold which have Royal couple at marriage day, and these days photo. Both are beautiful of its age.

I captured this big display in "Happiness of the Father, Happiness of the Children; " the Theme for the 60th Royal Coronation Anniversary Celebration, which held during May 05 - May 09, 2010. There were thousands of people walking along this event. It has one interesting activities called getting Passport stamp for 76 provinces, as to copy the things our King has done. He visited 76 provinces, covered all of Thailand to see how to improve anything better in each area in his entire life. We follow his path, and I got all 76 stamps too.. here is the Passport (quite blurr with my mobile shot)

This will be my last post which related to Politic situation of Thailand, as I understand that people have different opinions and Thailand has suffered enough from this conflict.

From tomorrow I would only post for photo and beauty of Bangkok only. Maybe can start with my niece beauty, she is 4 years old by now.

Why beautiful lady called Napas become famous now? She is brave enough to send her complain letter to CNN for the questioning of accuracy the news reported by CNN.

Why Pongpat speech is heart attack to us? He is one of best actor in Thailand, and he got the award for playing roll as FATHER. I love his speech!

Dear Sirs/Madams,

Recently, CNN Thailand Correspondents Dan Reviers and Sarah Snider have made me seriously reconsider your agency as a source for reliable and accurate unbiased news. As of this writing, over thousands of CNN's viewers have already begun to question the accuracy and dependability of its reporting as regards events in Afghanistan, Haiti, Iraq, Iran, etc., in addition to Bangkok.

As a first-rate global news agency, CNN has an inherent professional duty to deliver all sides of the truth to the global public who have faithfully and sincerely placed their trust and reliance in you. Your news network, by its longtime transnational presence and extensive reach, has been put in a position of trust and care; CNN's journalists, reporters, and researchers have a collective responsibility to follow the journalist's code and ethics to deliver and present facts from all facets of the story, not merely one-sided, shallow and sensational half-truths. The magnitude of harm or potential extent of damage that erroneous and fallacious news reporting can cause to (and exacerbate), not only a country's internal state of affairs, economic well-being, and general international perception, but also the real lives and livelihood of the innocent and voiceless people of that nation, is enormous. CNN should not negligently discard its duty of care to the international populace by reporting single-sided or unverified facts and distorted truths drawn from superficial research, or display/distribute biased images which capture only one side of the actual event.

Mr. Rivers and Ms. Snider have NOT done their best under these life-threatening circumstances because many other foreign correspondents have done better. All of Mr. Rivers and Ms. Sniders' quotes and statements seem to have been solely taken from the anti-government protest leaders or their followers/sympathizers. Yet, all details about the government's position have come from secondary resources. No direct interviews with government officials have been shown; no interviews or witness statement from ordinary Bangkok residents or civilians unaffiliated with protesters, particularly those who have been harassed by or suffered at the hands of the protesters, have been circulated.

Why the discrepancy in source of information? Why the failure to report all of the government's previous numerous attempts to negotiate or invitations for protesters to go home? Why no broadcast shown of the myriad ways the red protesters have terrorized and harmed innocent civilians by burning their shops, enclosing burning tyres around apartment buildings, shooting glass marbles at civilians from high altitudes, attacking civilians in their cars, and worst of all, obstructing paramedics and ambulances carrying civilians inured by M79 grenade blasts during the Silom incident of April 24, 2010, thereby resulting in the sole civilian casualty? The entire timeline of events that have forced the government to take this difficult stance has been hugely and callously ignored in deference to the red 'underdogs'.

Mr. Rivers and Ms. Snider's choice of sensational vocabulary and terminology in every newscast or news report, and choice of images to broadcast, has resulted in law-abiding soldiers and the heavily-pressured Thai government being painted in a negative, harsh, and oppressive light, whereas the genuinely violent and law-breaking arm of the anti-government protester - who are directly responsible for overt acts of aggression not only against armed soldiers but also against helpless, unarmed civilians and law-abiding apolitical residents of this once blooming metropolis (and worse actions under American law would by now be classified as terrorist activities0 - are portrayed as righteous freedom fighters deserving of worldwide sympathy and support. This has mislead the various international Human Rights watchdogs to believe the Thai government are sending trigger-happy soldiers out to ruthlessly murder unarmed civilians without just cause.

As a current resident of "war zone" Bangkok who has experienced the effect of the Red protests first hand and is living in a state of constant terror and anxiety as t whether her family, friends, and home would get bombed or attacked by the hardcore anti-government vigilantes/paramilitary forces - I appeal to CNN's professional integrity to critically investigate and scrutinize the misinformed news reporting of your above-named correspondents. If they are incapable of obtaining genuine, authentic facts from any other source except the Red Protest leaders and red-sympathizing Thai translators or acquaintances, or from fellow non-Thai-speaking journalists who are similarly ignorant of Thai language, culture, history, and society, then perhaps CNN should consider reassigning field correspondents to Thailand.

I implore and urge you to please take serious action to correct o reverse the grave injustice that has been done to the Thai nation, her government, and the majority of law-abiding Thai citizens and expatriate residents by having endorsed and widely circulated poorly researched and misrepresented news coverage of the current ongoing political unrest and escalating violence in Thailand.

Copies of this open letter have also been distributed to other local as well as international news media and social networks for public information. Please feel free to contact me further should you require any additional concrete and reputable evidence in substantiation and corroboration of my complaints and claims stated hereinabove.

It was on the way of my working, I have passed it every morning. The front view of Statue for King Rama I, he was the founder and the first monarch of the reigning House of Chakri. He ascended the throne in 1782, after defeating a rebellion which had deposed King Taksin of Thonburi.

Currently we are in King Rama 9, so imagine he was the King over 200 years ago.

It is my special day, I just went to temple and it is fully decorated as Chinese New Year Theme still.. the way lamp were hungs it is so beautiful. I wish for my life to be bright, fresh..and happy as the red lamps.

The Royal Thai Army Day is the commemoration of King Naresuan the Grea's Victory on January 18, 1593 where he claimed a famous feat over the Burmese during the elephant wars.

Rememberance of Somdet Phrachao Taksin Maharaj

First of all, don't be confused with the name Thaksin, the formerly cheating prime minister who now escape all law cases to Cambodia. Hate this cheating guy, you know.

Currently we are in Chakri dynasty with King Rama 9. King Taksin is the earlier King before Rama 1. To know story in full with Wikipedia, go below.

Taksin or in full is Somdet Phrachao Taksin Maharaj;or Somdet Phra Chao Krung Thonburi; (April 17, 1734 – April 7, 1782) was the only King of the Thonburi Kingdom.

He is greatly revered by the Thai people for his leadership in liberating Siam from Burmese occupation after the Second Fall of Ayutthaya in 1767, and the subsequent unification of Siam after it fell under various warlords. He established the city Thonburi as the new capital, as the city Ayutthaya has been almost completely destroyed by the invaders. His reign was characterized by numerous wars, fought to repel new Burmese invasions and to subjugate the northern Thai kingdom of Lanna, the Laotian principalities, and a threatening Cambodia.

He was succeeded by the Chakri dynasty and the Rattanakosin Kingdom under his long time friend King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke (King Rama 1). In recognition for what he did for the Thais, he was later awarded the title of Maharaj (The Great).

It seems long time no see in this blog, I've lost my touch about taking photo. On Sunday I went to Suan Santichai Prakarn next to Khaosan Road. It had an event called SEASON Bangkok, in which has monotone meaning to Colorful Bangkok. There were many young creative/artist display their works, handmade booth and musical play. I got many cute postcards.

This is the view from one pier, it looks through the Rama 9 Bridge and Kasikorn Bank head quater. If you go ahead the river, soon you will reach the ocean. You might not find many tourist boat as it becomes industrial area by heading to the sea port.

It was the area called Pak Klong Talad, or in Thai meaning is the market near the river. This area is famous for selling fresh flowers, huge market for that. This beautiful pagoda is just right there. I'm sorry that i couldn't do better with the light stand. I took it since early morning today, but have time to post it by now.

C'mon Let's Loy Krathong

If you google it with word "Loy Krathong" in Thailand, you will know what is this mean. In brief is we make floating floral vessel and put onto water as forgiveness to River (Mother of River). You can pick ordinary floral one made of banana tree, leaf and flowers.

Or just full of beautiful leaf and other flowers like above.

What about nice idea of using cabbage as a container?

This is also environmentally friendly one, made of bread. It can be good food to all fish.

This is funny one, bread in turtle shape.

This is how people do, make a wish with Krathong (flora vessel) with lighted candle..and float on to water. It brings you good luck and take away your bad things in life.

For me? I didn't do any, just doesn't feel like it but enjoy seeing people doing so. It was very windy and I feel so good with that.

Do you see the door overthere? It was pretty crowded ha? It was taken on last 2 years during Chinese New Year in Thailand. This is most famous temple for praying, as you can huge number of people walking through that door. It is considered the door which lead to God.

Rama IX Bridge

It could be more beautiful if I was at another side of river, but couldn't help when I was there for my work. This bridge is called Rama IX Bridge.

It is over the Chao Phraya river. The bridge was named in honour of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's 60th birthday; the 5 December opening date coincides with the King's birthday. It was the first cable-stayed bridge in Thailand and had the second longest cable-stayed span in the world when it opened in 1987

The original colour scheme, with white pylons and black cables, was replaced with an all yellow scheme representing the King in 2006
