>> Friday, July 31, 2009

Most of you are unable to read it, I know. But I like to share how I feel it is funny. This shop is located not very far from Grand Palace and Wat Pho, however I'm not familiar with that area. I was so hungry and wanting to find some restaurant or small food shop is fine. By the RED wording it say "Tha Tien Food Shop", and I totally believe it is food shop! Guess what the second line in blue say? "We are selling all dices"

Oh my god! What a relevant on this ! And i couldn't find any food in their shop at all, just wondering if they are selling dice, why put food shop there?

Just coincident that I got another dog photo, but it is not that cute as the last dog. He doesn't have rich owner for sure.

Victory Monument

>> Sunday, July 12, 2009

As I commented in Chin, Easy Bangkok Daily Photo, I was thinking about put this Victory Monument yesterday just because I passed that area. It was just coincident, anyway I posted today. It has difference angle of it.

Victory Monument (Thai: อนุสาวรีย์ชัยสมรภูมิ, Anusawari Chai Samoraphum) is a large military monument in Bangkok, Thailand. The monument is located in Ratchathewi district, northeast of central Bangkok, at the center of a traffic circle at the intersection of Phahonyothin Road, Phaya Thai Road, and Ratchawithi Road.

The monument was erected in June 1941 to commemorate the Thai "victory" in the Franco-Thai War, a brief conflict waged against the French colonial authorities in Indo-China, which resulted in Thailand annexing some territories in western Cambodia and northern and southern Laos. These were among the territories which the Kingdom of Siam had been forced to cede to France in 1893 and 1904, and patriotic Thais considered them rightfully to belong to Thailand.

Bicycle park lot

>> Sunday, July 5, 2009

You can see it at each bus stop, or under the flyover, you can park your bike there but from what I see mostly there are not expensive bike. Only old junkie, maybe it can be stolen? People use the bike out from their house to reach main road, after that they may go on buses.

I myself like to ride along bicycle, but not in city. Prefer to be in the park, or nearby the beach, better air and breath easier :)

I got this photo taken while I was visiting 9 temples in one day, it was a few months ago. I counted Wat Boworn as number 8th. It was in late afternoon, and we were so tired but still feel happy of doing this.

Wat Bowornniwet Vihara Rajaworavihara (Wat Boworn) is the first grade royal temple. This is one of the important temples in Bangkok. Wat Boworn is also the residence of members of royal family who enter monkhood i.e. King Rama Vl, Vll, lX.

The important sites in Wat Boworn are "Ubosot", a "Trimuk" (three facade), decorated with glazed ceramics, where the seal of the Royal Crown located at the centre, another are the principal Buddha image, the Vihara the Chedi and the Panya residence, a place where the kings and the princes have stayed during their ordain.

Motto: "Receive the good thing in life"Offering: 3 incense stick, 1 pair of red candles

Bangkok was full of canal, it was called Eastern Venice before. However these days canals are dirty and not much transportation on water. Before we used to have a lot of activities with water, market, selling, buying and meeting people by boat. Once the car & road time come, we forgot river. Government just resurrect this sort of floating market again, and it was good fun to go there. I enjoyed food and good company that day.

See how is food? There were big fishes covered by salt, grilled beautifully and tasted so good too!
