Daily Photo of “The city of angels"
On the intersection between Silom Road and Narathiwat Road at Sunday midday, not so many traffic. Sun is so clear before heavy raining. I like that windmill. Do you see it?
Yesterday I went to Pet expo 2009 at QNSCC, it was quite late and all the shop is nearly closed. I found several handsome dogs but this one catch my eyes. The owner ask him to post this act for us.. see how cute he is :)
I got this shot when I was at Samsung Service center, it shows cute advertising model of the real bike. Cute one, right?
"In the Early 1900's, King Rama VI of Thailand envisaged a wondrous utopia, a town in heaven' he called Dusit Thani. For over 60 years it has been the inspiration for all we do"
This is main phrase you will see at Dusit Thani Hotel Group, this is one of 5 star hotel in Thailand which located in good location. I took this photo from BTS-MRT walkway, two of speed trains passes this hotel entrance, so it is easy for guest to travel. It was still early morning, so nobody is around yet. I can see two guard are chatting with their mirror tool (checking under each car)
She looks very happy when I take her picture, I was walking there to get some food and there are huge area of street shopping with low price. I stopped by this because of good smell, good taste too.
I was on the BTS station, Saphan Taksin, we can see Wat Yannawa easily and from the far side also see newly build condo or mansion. Very luxury and modern..
This is very common to see in morning time at Mo Chit Station, the terminal for BTS line where I often start my journey to work.. crowded since begining..hooo!! What a good Monday :)
I saw Leif Hagen left message in my previous post, this place is really a famous place to go for hang out, for shopping, for sightseeing and for me window shopping. It is world class shopping mall with their slogan The Pride of Bangkok. This is not very far from Central World Plaza (formerly name World Trade Center), you can see other photo in Chin's blog here too.
More of Siam Paragon is here and here
If you are here you will be surprised how many hypermart or discount store (in large scale) are in Thailand, especially in Bangkok. You can see Tesco Lotus, Carrefour, Big C, Makro. These are big four depots.
I passed this area, and the Grand Palace with Emerald Buddha Temple are still very beautiful for me. In this area you will see a lot of Tuk Tuk (3 wheels vehicle) for short distance travel. Many tourists are using their services.
As I commented in Chin, Easy Bangkok Daily Photo, I was thinking about put this Victory Monument yesterday just because I passed that area. It was just coincident, anyway I posted today. It has difference angle of it.
In Bangkok, you will find all sort of Taxi colors, in all color you can imagine but mostly it is colorful one. I like this one, sweeeeeeeet color. :)
There are stands for big model of car robot in Transformer II movie, which just luanched in Thailand not long ago. I think it get great success here with good production and mass public relation.
Hell Boy is here too :)
This post is related to another Bangkok blogger here, as we are on holiday of making merit for Buddhism Lent which I posted earlier. Even little kid is making merit by giving rice to monk.
These 2 - 3 coming days, it is big day for buddhism as Asanha Bucha Day and Buddism Lent, you will see these kind of photo almost everywhere.
Asanha Bucha Day is also known as Asanha Puja Day, this day commemorates the first sermon by Buddha in the deer park. It falls on the day before the start of Buddhist lent and is determined by the first full moon of the eighth lunar month. As this day marks the first ever Buddhist monk ordainment, it is a popular choice of day for Thais to enter monkhood
You can see it at each bus stop, or under the flyover, you can park your bike there but from what I see mostly there are not expensive bike. Only old junkie, maybe it can be stolen? People use the bike out from their house to reach main road, after that they may go on buses.
I got this photo taken while I was visiting 9 temples in one day, it was a few months ago. I counted Wat Boworn as number 8th. It was in late afternoon, and we were so tired but still feel happy of doing this.
Wat Bowornniwet Vihara Rajaworavihara (Wat Boworn) is the first grade royal temple. This is one of the important temples in Bangkok. Wat Boworn is also the residence of members of royal family who enter monkhood i.e. King Rama Vl, Vll, lX.
The important sites in Wat Boworn are "Ubosot", a "Trimuk" (three facade), decorated with glazed ceramics, where the seal of the Royal Crown located at the centre, another are the principal Buddha image, the Vihara the Chedi and the Panya residence, a place where the kings and the princes have stayed during their ordain.
Motto: "Receive the good thing in life"Offering: 3 incense stick, 1 pair of red candles
Bangkok was full of canal, it was called Eastern Venice before. However these days canals are dirty and not much transportation on water. Before we used to have a lot of activities with water, market, selling, buying and meeting people by boat. Once the car & road time come, we forgot river. Government just resurrect this sort of floating market again, and it was good fun to go there. I enjoyed food and good company that day.
No, not this one closer to you. The other one though :)
It was empty, it was full..then it back to empty again..such is life
